CAPRI

CAPRI is a therapeutic device that can be used for the rehabilitation of patients suffering from dysfunctions of grip control and accuracy, motor and movement coordination of hand. The target group includes not only neurological patients but also orthopaedic, pediatric and elderly people. CAPRI system is typically used in occupational therapy and physiotherapy as therapeutic support, enhancement and intensification in addition to conventional forms of therapy. Active repetitive exercise and training promotes neuronal plasticity and thus the alteration (adaptation) of synapses, nerve cells and even entire areas of the brain to regain lost functionality.

  • paralysis caused by a hernia of the intervertebral disc
  • orthopedic injuries (injuries resulting from hand surgery)
  • musculoskeletal disorders resulting in limited range of movement, deconditioning, lack of coordinaton
  •  involution of nervous and musculoskeletal system due to ageing

Model description

  • The CAPRI consists of a main module equipped with a battery-powered electronic measuring system.
  • The device communicates with the computer wirelessly using the included radio receiver plugged into the USB port.
  • Together with the device, the user receives a set of different attachments and a battery charger.
  • Attachments included in the set could be used to perform specific exercises, in different positions with different levels of difficulty.
  • The grips included in the set allow for exercising by patients with various hand dysfunctions.
  • Together with the device, the user receives software that allows conducting therapy with the use of personalized and fully parameterized games.
  • The level of difficulty and the range of operation of the device is set individually for each patient.
  • The software fully tracks the progress of rehabilitation and allows for the preparation of partial and collective reports.
